In honor of New Orleans’ own legendary jazz trumpeter Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong, Satchmo SummerFest presented by Chevron is back, from August 2 through 4, for another year of music, food and fun. On Thursday, Aug. 3, Satchmo SummerFest presented by Chevron will kick off with a fundraiser to benefit French Quarter Festivals, Inc. Satchmo SummerFest, a.k.a Satchmofest, is an annual music festival to celebrate Louis Armstrong. It is a weekend-long festival held in early August to coincide with Louis Armstrong’s birthday on August 4.

The Satchmo Legacy Stage features an impressive array of national and international speakers, including jazz scholars, people who knew and worked with Armstrong, historians, Armstrong House Museum faculty, and musicians. Special party featuring Germaine Basille - includes heavy hors d'oeuvres and open bar.
