Beerus ls limited to a dbs manga/anime composite while buu is allowed to use any dbz property so essentially it's a composited version of buu that is only using dbz material. Vegeta only attacks Beerus after he slaps Bulma.

re: Goku vs Gotenks (Beginning of Super) Beerus chose to dodge Majin Buu, 18, Piccolo, and Tenshinhan's attacks, but tanked Gotenks' punches. Beerus is directly contradicted and Goku was severely suppressed. When Gotenks first fuses correctly, Videl says he had Goten's hair, though his hairstyle looks nothing like Goten's except for the main color. If the gap between Copy Vegeta and SS3 Gotenks is higher than the one between Beerus and Goku, Copy Vegeta would have finger flicked Gotenks or killed him right away like Gohan with a Cell Jr. Or more easily, in fact, since SS3 Goku > SS3 Gotenks in BOG.
